Terms of Service

JustHappend is a live-capture media sharing service. All moments are captured directly from your device camera at the time of sharing. We do not accept uploads of pre-existing media. We do not apply filters, AI enhancements, or edits to your captures. What you see is what was in front of someone at that moment.

The service has two primary modes:

• Private Timeline — a shared album visible only to people you explicitly invite, who must accept the invitation. All members capture live; no uploads are permitted.
• Anonymous Trade — a 1:1 contactless exchange where you submit a live capture and receive one from a stranger. No identities are revealed. Trade moments self-destruct within 24 hours. One trade per account per day.

Features may change. We will give reasonable notice for material changes that affect your existing content or connections.

You must be at least 16 years old to use JustHappend, or the minimum age required to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher. Persons under 13 may not use the service under any circumstances.

By registering, you confirm that you meet these age requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

You may browse the landing page without an account. To capture, trade, or participate in Timelines, you must register with a valid email address and password. Your display name is auto-generated at signup; you may update it later.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately. We will never ask for your password via email or support messages.

Email verification is required to unlock the full service. Unverified accounts have limited capabilities and may be removed after 30 days if never verified.

You agree not to:

• Post, trade, or share any content that depicts or sexualises minors in any way (CSAM). Violations will be reported to NCMEC and relevant authorities without exception.
• Post content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or designed to incite violence.
• Attempt to identify, doxx, or expose the identity of an anonymous trade partner.
• Spam or flood the Trade pool with meaningless, inappropriate, or duplicate captures.
• Upload pre-existing media, use screen recordings of other content, or attempt to bypass the live-capture requirement.
• Use scripts, bots, or automation to interact with the service, create accounts, or manipulate the Trade pool.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, account bans, or security controls.
• Scrape, replicate, or commercialise content from the service without permission.
• Impersonate another person or create misleading accounts.

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and report to law enforcement as appropriate — including without prior notice in serious cases.

You retain ownership of content you capture. By submitting content to JustHappend, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the service — including delivering it to your chosen Timeline members or your anonymous trade partner, and performing safety moderation.

This licence is narrow by design: we do not use your moments for advertising, do not sell them to third parties, and do not train AI models on them. The licence for Trade moments expires when the moment self-destructs (within 24 hours of the trade window closing).

You represent and warrant that: (a) you have the right to capture and share the content; (b) capturing it does not violate any applicable laws; and (c) the content does not infringe any third-party rights.

JustHappend uses a mutual-consent connection model. No content flows between two people on a Timeline until both have explicitly accepted the connection. You may decline or block any request. Blocking a person prevents all future contact through the service.

Trade connections are anonymous and non-reciprocal. Attempting to identify, re-contact, or harass someone you encountered via a Trade is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent termination.

The service requires camera access to capture moments. We request this permission only when you explicitly choose to open the camera within the app. We do not access your camera at any other time, do not access your camera roll or existing photos, and do not record without your active initiation.

We store only the media you explicitly submit. We do not process, analyse, or retain data from camera sessions that do not result in a submitted capture.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not responsible for content captured or shared by other users. Views, moments, and statements shared by users are theirs alone and do not reflect our views.

Trade moments are submitted and received anonymously. While we moderate for policy violations, we cannot guarantee the nature of content you may receive in a Trade. If you receive harmful content, use the in-app report function immediately.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, privacy harms arising from content shared by others, or missed trade windows. Our total liability for any claim is limited to USD $50, or the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months (the service is currently free).

You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, without prior notice in serious cases. On deletion: your profile and submitted moments will be removed from the service. Trade moments already received by another user are independently governed by that user's session and will still self-destruct on schedule.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that period constitutes acceptance.
